What is covered in a health screening?
A health screen generally includes various routine tests performed to assess your current state of health. The tests you will have will depend on those supplied by the benefit provider where you have your screening, but could include tests to check cholesterol and blood sugar (glucose) levels, liver and kidney function tests, a blood pressure check, and a cardiac risk assessment. You may also have specific screening tests for breast, cervical, prostate, colorectal and skin cancer or bone densitometry.
A health screen enables you to understand where you are at that point in time with your health and wellbeing so that you can identify any underlying health issues, any areas you need to improve to manage those risks, or any steps you need to take to prevent problems in the future.
Benefits may vary according to the plan chosen and waiting periods may apply.
How do you support my health day-to-day?
All our health plans, except Major Medical, provide cover for day-to-day outpatient care. Benefits vary according to plan but could include doctor or specialist appointments, footcare, physiotherapy, dietetic advice, and routine dental. Plans may also include preventive treatments such as health screenings, vaccinations and eye tests.
All our plans also offer access to Blua digital health services at no additional cost, to help you stay well, and get well, wherever you might be. This includes unlimited virtual appointments with a doctor, at any time of the day or night.
Can I choose my specialist?
Yes, you can choose the specialist who will provide your treatment.
We have the largest global healthcare network of over 2 million healthcare providers – wherever you are, we’re here to support you.
When you need a benefits provider, our dedicated team can help you. And when you choose to have your treatment and services with a provider in our network, we can settle with them directly, so you can focus on getting better.
Can pre-existing conditions be covered?
Pre-existing conditions could be covered, subject to meeting assessment criteria from our medical team.
When you apply for a health plan you will be asked to provide all information about any illness or injury for which you received medication, advice or treatment, or you had experienced symptoms before you become a customer.
Our medical team will review your medical history to decide the terms on which we will offer you a health plan. We may cover any pre-existing conditions, possibly for an extra premium, or decided to exclude specific pre-existing conditions or apply other restrictions to your health plan.
We will not cover any pre-existing conditions that you did not disclose in your application.
