Bupa GlobalOncological Right to Be Forgotten – Italy

Under Law 193/2023 and IVASS Order No. 169/2026, customers who have previously undergone treatment for oncological conditions may exercise the “Right to Be Forgotten.” This right applies once the legal timeframes have passed with no recurrence.
If a customer has previously suffered from oncological diseases — whose active treatment has been completed, with no recurrence, for more than ten years, as provided for by Law No. 193 of 7 December 2023 and the related implementing decrees - they are not required to provide information, nor to undergo any type of investigation (e.g., medical examination) regarding that previous condition.
The period is reduced from ten years to five years if the disease arose before the customer reached twenty one years of age.
For the oncological diseases covered by Law No. 193 of 7 December 2023 and the related implementing decrees, shorter time periods apply, as indicated in the table below:
