Bupa Global launches new Singapore Inpatient Team

February 2026

A new Singapore-based team has been created that will work directly with selected providers, handling pre-authorisation, negotiate treatment costs, and review claims.

This applies to all members who have inpatient and day-case procedures with any of the selected providers in Singapore.

Why are we making this change?

We’ve introduced this new team to help:

  • improve cost management, as costs for inpatient and day-case claims continue to rise in the region.
  • ensure guidelines are followed consistently, aiming to increase the submission of clean claims.
  • manage provider relationships closer, offering the opportunity to give straightforward feedback about approvals and changes.
  • leverage local team expertise, knowledge and experience when dealing with local providers.

How will this affect your clients?

Reasonable & Customary (R&C) guidelines for inpatient and day-case procedures have been introduced in Singapore. This new team will review and challenge inappropriate charges at the pre-authorisation stage, setting cost expectations and assisting pricing fairness.

Impacted members and intermediary partners have been sent communications introducing R&C guidelines in the region.
