You may know Bupa Global for our premium health insurance, but did you know that we also provide single-trip and annual multi-trip business and personal travel insurance?
Our travel insurance has no excess / deductible or co-payment on medical expenses, no overall limit on eligible medical expenses, and we can cover many pre-existing and chronic medical conditions as standard, as long as you let us know your circumstances and we approve them before your trip.
We have a huge global network of medical providers to draw upon for your care and treatment in medical emergencies, and we do not underwrite our insurance to third parties.
We also offer non-medical and trip cancellation insurance, and all our customer service is in-house, to offer you a premium experience.
We can cover many pre-existing and chronic medical conditions too, as long as they have been stable for 6 months before you start a trip. Just complete our application form so we can let you know if yours is covered.
We may cover many pre-existing and chronic medical conditions such as:
- Heart conditions
- High blood pressure
- Gastrointestinal conditions
Our travel insurance can cover your pre-existing and chronic medical conditions, as long as your condition has been been stable for more than 6 months before you start each trip. Please see the policy conditions especially art. 6.6 for the complete overview of our stability requirements. If you have been stable for more than 6 months, you do not need to send in a pre-existing application form. If you are in any doubt whether your condition would be considered stable, you are welcome to contact us or complete the application form.
You can apply before or after you buy your policy, but it is important to let us know about your condition before you begin your trip or you may not be covered for costs that result from associated emergency medical emergencies.
Please note that processing of application can take up to 5 working days.
What travel insurance options are available and how do I choose?
Your travel insurance policy structure is simple: the core cover is called Medical, and it draws on our medical expertise and experience, so if you want to protect yourself and your loved ones for medical emergencies resulting from acute unexpected illness or injury, this is ideal.
You can then add Non-Medical and Trip cancellation cover if you wish. These are all serviced by our in-house teams.

Single trip vs annual multi-trip travel insurance
A single trip travel insurance policy covers a trip of a defined duration, while annual multi-trip policies can cover all your trips of up to 30 days – personal and business, planned or last-minute – for one year. Either way, you usually don’t need to tell us where you are going, but please contact us if you are travelling to high risk areas, such as Iraq or Afghanistan, so we can discuss the cover options available.
If you’re not sure whether single trip or annual multi-trip insurance is more suitable to you, here’s a quick overview of the differences:
- Single Trip Travel Insurance policy
If you don’t travel often, you may prefer to buy a single trip policy. Single trip travel insurance can cover you for one work or personal trip that lasts from 1 to 364 days.
- Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance policy
If you travel even a few times in a year, it makes sense to get a quote for an annual multi-trip travel insurance policy. This will cover you for as many trips (up to a month each) as you can fit into one year: for work or personal travel, worldwide – and we cover a wide range of activities while you are away. If one of your trips does extend beyond a month, you can extend your insurance online by paying a daily premium.
Aside from being convenient, annual multi-trip policies can be less expensive when compared to the cost of multiple single trip policies over a year. Please check the policy benefits, limits and exclusions before you buy, to make sure our cover is right for all your needs.
